“Patti Smith, The Boarding House, San Francisco 1975”
Though well known at the time for her poetry work and as a member of the Warhol infused New York City art scene, Patti didn’t turn to Rock and Roll as a creative outlet until 1974. She made this appearance at the Boarding House shortly after the release of her first album, “Horses” in November of 1975. If you haven’t read her autobiography “Just Kids”, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s the best read I’ve come across on becoming an artist.
